In the name of Jesus....

As I continue to dive into what God is really showing me... The theme just continues to drive home.  Our God is an amazing, God who has called His people and set us apart for something amazing... His church.

I've been reading in Acts with the kids and in Acts 1:5 it says for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now....

vs. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come up on you; and you shall be witness to me in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Then in chapter 2:17 it says And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams....

I see all of this and something just is excited within me because our God has made a promise that His Holy Spirit is available to us... He will show us things, speak to us, give us direction... we just need to allow that presence in our lives and tap into what it takes to be close to God.  I think of the scripture draw near to me and I will draw near to you.... are you hungry?  Do you want something different? Are you ready to see God do things? The miracles we see in the scripture aren't things of the past... they are still available to us...

In Acts 3:6 Peter says to the Lame man Silver and Gold I do not not have, but what I do have I give you; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

Peter couldn't buy what this man needed... he didn't have possessions... money... but he has one thing... AUTHORITY... do you know where that Authority came from? It came from the Holy Spirit that resided inside of Him.  He had been filled with the spirit... touched in an amazing way by God because he had been in God's presence.

Can you imagine life today if we tapped into that Authority?  Can you imagine what God could do in and through our lives every day if we pressed in through prayer... not just asking him for those daily needs (although those are important too!) but praying in deeper ways.  Praying for our community to meet Jesus, praying for our neighbors to be set free from addictions, praying for the sick to be healed... not just asking but praying with authority through JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH...
