My people

 As I have been seeking God lately and really praying about His will, I keep going back to this verse...

2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  

I was praying and asking God why this verse right now? What do you want me to see or hear different right now? We see and hear this verse so often.  

God reminded me, first of all... it says MY people...So often we hear this verse and we just think "oh, people need to humble themselves and come to God..." NO! God wants HIS people... you and me... the ones who have already turned to Him... the ones that have already excepted Him, we are HIS and HE hungers for us to humble ourselves but what exactly does this all look like? 

Looking at the Hebrew meaning of this I was so overwhelmed and overcome with emotion as I looked at it.  God is calling us to come before the circumstances force us too... He's wanting us to choose to turn to Him to want Him... to hunger for Him... Seek... literally to crave or strive for Him... pairing that with My face.. it means seeking God's literal presence!  You don't seek someone's face to not want to be close... drawing near to that touch... that place that is deep rooted in His presence in a way that is indescribable... imagine crawling up and sitting at the feet of God and just pouring your heart in the most intimate deep way you could ever imagine? 

To turn... literally turn away from all the wicked and sin in our lives and things around us... strive for that holiness to be like Him.  

What's God's response?  To HEAR... to listen with attention! Our God... our Heavenly Father listens! And then to Forgive... to wipe it all clean and makes us new but he doesn't stop there... He says He will heal.... the Hebrew meaning of this... To mend, to repair, to stitch back together.... have you ever seen someone stitch something without touching it?  The beauty of this is amazing to me.... God literally will heal by stitching us back together.... 

So... God has been pressing on my heart to pray but with new fervency... a new hunger... To change my prayer life and see it much differently!  Want to see a change around you?  Want to see God move and work? Do you want to see people saved and healed? It starts with you and me humbling ourselves and praying in a deeper more intimate way for God to heal this land.

Listening...

We got to go to church today.  We haven't been in MONTHS!  It's super hard to pack us up and go places and the weekends are when we are wiped because we have been on the go like crazy through the week with appointments, my therapies, school, etc.  But I was blessed to be there today.  For those needing a church, especially if you have special needs in your home, Whosoever ministries in Fountain City is a fantastic church home. It starts at 2 p.m. on Sundays and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays. Now... back to where I was.  Today, Denver (the pastor) was talking about final words and listening to people to get a better understanding of who they really are.  It got me to really thinking!  So many times, I wonder what people hear from me when they listen... then it made me think... our words are a powerful thing in our lives!  Words can bring hope... words can dash hope!  Words can bring joy but equally bring sorry.  Words can build up or tear down... ...

Turn of events...

My life has taken a sudden change... everything I once knew... it feels I no longer know.  I was admitted 2 1/2 weeks ago because of my aspiration issues and a Peg tube (feeding tube) was placed in my abdomen.  I went in with the understanding this was going to be supplemental... and I came out learning this was it... This was my sole nutrition.... The words NPO indefinitely were written in bold letters across the note from my surgeon and team of doctors (NPO meaning... nothing by mouth).  You don't realize how big that word Indefinite is... until it's placed on something major in your life.  This has been a hard road.  I have put on my bravest most strongest face I can... but there are moments... daily moments... I find myself broken... I feel so much better now with my health that it makes it all worthwhile but for me... for many... food is social!  We get together and we eat.... we have parties and we eat... we have victories and we eat... we go on dat...

Another step...

 I went to Muncie today, just JJ and me.  Have you ever had that moment you really just needed a breakthrough with God, and it happens when you least expect it?  That was me today!    Life has been a real different journey for me lately.  With a fairly new diagnosis of my own health, learning the tests results, trying to learn the daily routine of what I need and then learning to cope with the fact my health is not what it once was.    I knew this bothered me, but I didn't realize to the extent that it made me struggle!  Today, as I was driving and listening to this song, something snapped in me.  I realized that my health issues don't have to bring me down.  The words to a song came on and started to hit me really hard!  This is what they said "There's a peace  I have come to know.
